Scope/Content: 

Consists of magazine photographs, proofs, negatives, slides, and prints of Ms. Zinner's professional fashion photography dating from the late 1940s through the 1970s.

Approximately 5 cubic feet.

Fashion photographs for: LIFE, LOOK, Sports Illustrated, Town & Country, Glamour, Mademoiselle, New York Times Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine, TV Guide, Ebony, Vanity Fair (British), Brides Magazine, McCall's, Colliers, American Home, Seventeen, Photoplay, and California Stylist.

Biography

Christa Zinner was born in Germany; visited the US for 14 months as a students and returned permanently two years later; operated a golf links restaurant; became a fashion model in San Francisco, and became interested in photography (commercial, portrait, and fashion);  managed a photo studio while taking classes at Los Angeles Art Center School;  opened own commercial studio for fashion photography with emphasis on editorial assignments;  married motion picture editor and director Peter Zinner.  She is currently a sculptor in living in Los Angeles.
