Overview

The Urban, Public, and International Affairs Interdisciplinary Center consists of the Accounting and Crocker Business Libraries, the Gerontology Library, the Von KleinSmid Center Library for Applied Social Sciences, and the Social Work Information Center.

The UPIA Center purpose is to serve the research and curriculum needs of USC faculty and students with particular emphasis on the needs of graduate-level research in the social sciences. Within the context of the University mission, the Center supports the Provost’s digital library initiative with increasingly flexible access to print and electronic resources.

The Center strives to provide a working service environment of collegiality and cooperation among all members of the Center and its constituents, and to provide comprehensive learning laboratories consisting of collections, instructional programs, and research initiatives that are linked to serving the growing needs of a diverse community of researchers throughout the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles metropolitan area, the Southern California region, and beyond.
