Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Where are the books?
If a record for a book in the HOMER library catalog says "bookstacks," and it is not checked out to someone else, it will be on the 3rd floor of the S&E Library. If the record says "reference," it will be on the first floor, and may only be used in the Library.
The wireless access in Science & Engineering seems to be uneven. Where is the best reception?
These floorplans for the first floor, second floor and third floor, indicate the quality of the reception, on a scale of 0 to 5, in the different areas of the library. **Please note that a major upgrade for the wireless access was completed in September 2005.**
Can I check out a bound journal?
Graduate students and faculty can check out bound journals for three hours. Bound journals paged from Grand can be checked out for twenty-four hours.
What methods of payment can I use for the photocopiers?
The photocopiers accept USC Libraries Print & Copy Card or USC discretionary cards. The S&E Library has a vending machine for the purchase of copy cards.
I can't find a journal in the stacks. What do I do?
Please ask for help at the circulation desk. A staff member will assist you in locating the journal.
What are your reference hours?
