Perpetual Endowment to AAPG material !!
Alums (anonymously) have endowed USC with perpetual access to AAPG (Am. Assoc. of Petroleum Geologists) online resources, in memory of Dr. Richard Stone. The collection includes over a dozen society publications & electronic journals and over 230 e-books. The USC Libraries are extremely grateful for this generous support of Earth Sciences research.
Collections
The principal Earth and Ocean Sciences collections are located in the Science & Engineering Library.
- New Earth and Ocean Sciences Books:
- New books are shelved separately in the Science & Engineering Library, on the first floor to the right of the stairwell. These books may be checked out.
- Earth and Ocean Sciences Journals:
- Search the HOMER online catalog especially for print journals.
- Search "Serials Solutions" for electronic journals
Related collections:
- Additional materials, including much of the Hancock Collection, are available in the Grand Avenue Library.
- For news on the progress of the Hancock collection transfers, see the Science and Engineering Library page.
- Materials related to the History of Earth and Ocean Sciences are located in Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library.
- Philosophy of Earth and Ocean Sciences materials are housed in the Hoose Library of Philosophy.
- Older and less frequently used materials, including paper journals for which USC provides electronic access, as well as USC theses and dissertations, are located in Grand Avenue Library. These items can be requested in the HOMER online catalog by clicking on the call number for the item.
The Earth and Ocean Sciences collections support teaching and research in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Earth Sciences Department through the doctoral level and beyond, as well as the work of related research centers including the Southern California Earthquake Center and the Southern California Sea Grant Program.
